Increase Your Emotional Balance By Fostering Nurturing Relationships….

We have an interesting post on the Energy Enhancer: Emotional Balance & Nurturing Relationships.  Practical advice you can use TODAY…before you read this make sure you take three deep breaths:  Clear your mind….

I would like to begin with my own quote on emotional balance “A Stable Mind Is The Key To Total Wellness”.

Here are two practical advice elements to move you in the direction of achieving “Your Stable Mind” –

1)          Think Positive Thoughts Daily…that’s right everyday, to increase YOUR self – esteem.  Keeping in mind your positive thoughts will result in positive actions!!!

2)          Write down your positive thoughts….did you say you don’t have pen or paper, ok, well use your phone as I know for sure it is in close proximity.  Quit playing, many of you even name your phone, so now use it to scribe your positive thoughts using a Memo or Notes App.  Remember only positive thoughts are allowed!

Now that we are on the positive thinking track, let’s combine this with fostering nurturing relationships. This is a great combination, as YOUR thoughts are positive and YOU should seek to be around positive people whenever possible.   Nurturing relationships are very important to YOUR health. However, only YOU can decide which relationships are most important, which are nurturing, and which need more or your nurturing.

Question For You…..Are you in a TOXIC relationship?

For example, do you allow yourself to be sucked into constant unhealthy debates with certain people?  I hope the answer is no, but if your answer is YES, here are the results…ready….

Emotional unbalance, low self-esteem, headaches, lack of focus, restless nights, etc…these are known as ENERGY Robbers and we want to minimize at all cost.  Simple enough, right…..

So, to INCREASE YOUR Emotional Health, it would be easy to just avoid toxic relationships!  This is easier said than done as sometimes you cannot just “cut” off people, however the beauty is YOU have control as to when you engage in those conversations with toxic people as they are a tangent line to your circle.

Try this exercise – Assess Your Relationships……You have two (2) buckets:

1)          Positive Relationship bucket: where there is mutual support with minimal stress.  People that make “positive” or deposits to your emotional bucket….Your “true” friends (non-competitive with you, provide you with praise, and also tell you when you may need to take a look in the mirror because your face is dirty, etc), perhaps supportive family members, some colleagues would be in this category.

2)          Negative Relationship bucket: this is easy, as it is the complete opposite of the above.  Everyone else that is not placed in the positive bucket.  When you are around these folks, take your deep breaths, remember this too shall pass, and always wear a smile on your face.

Remember, only YOU can determine who is placed in each bucket.

Continue to Foster positive relationships!  Reduce contact and eventually eliminate negative relationships as negative relationships rob YOUR energy!  YOU are in control!
